Yosemite Max/MSP (2017)
After a 28 day road trip down Route 66, up Highway 1, and finishing in the sublime beauty that is Yosemite National Park, I had amassed a collection of field recordings using my Zoom H4 recorder. I decided to make a Max/MSP patch that turned these files into a generative sound collage. The sounds are always in a random state of flux, sometimes fading into the mix and other times retreating into the distance. The piece is also interactive, picking up sounds the user makes (via a microphone) and adding them into the sound collage.
