Max/MSP Patches

Below are some examples of patches created using the computer software Max/MSP. If you are a Max user and want to play with these patches, get in touch! Iā€™m happy to share. andyjarema@gmail.com

Thrush Overtones

An exploration of the overlap between bird song, human music, and the naturally occurring overtone series. It intermingles randomly generated synth sounds with recordings of a hermit thrush being pitch/time shifted and fed through a delay line.

Generative Lullaby

Initially created to be a wind machine for our sleeping daughter, this patch is a combination of field recordings and synth sounds that are randomly delayed, pitched, enveloped, etc. It explores the idea of simple building blocks of sound being spun into an entire sonic ecosystem.

Yosemite

A collection of seven field recordings randomly fading in/out to make a generative soundscape. The patch also grabs live audio from your mic, which I use to play a thumb piano but any sound might work.
