A Call To Artists

 Hey there!

I had a blast making this text-based/interactive fiction video game using Twine.  It was an experiment, a way to take my album release and embed it in a fictional story, giving it a new layer of meaning and depth.  This game was all a solo project, but now I want to invite some folks in.

The premise is loose, but here’s what I kinda have in mind.  Essentially, we would each create a tiny climate-inspired piece of art that would get embedded into a new Twine story similar to mine.  In other words, another text-based game about a virtual museum where all the exhibits are your work instead of mine.  What could your climate-inspired piece of art be?  I’ll leave it up to you.  Any discipline is welcome.  But if you need more guidance, here is a loose prompt to respond to: what is a common place thing in today’s natural world that in 50 years will be disfigured by climate change, and how might it become an object of value worthy of a museum exhibit in the future?

I’m looking for any and all environmentally-minded artists to virtually collaborate with.  All disciplines welcome.  I want the time commitment to be low: beyond mostly asynchronous emails back and forth, you would send me a thing and that’s it.  I would handle the heavy lifting of the programming/Twine stuff, you would just send me one tiny art piece.  And there is no money involved here (I want to be clear that I don’t have anything to pay you with, and I fully respect you if an unpaid commitment is not what you need right now).  I’m just an artist trying to figure things out, and I’m fascinated with the way this could perhaps build a virtual community of nature-inspired artists.

Interested?  Send me a quick affirmative via email!  Hoping to rope in enough people in to make this work.  Don’t make your art yet! I’ll let you know if I can get it off the ground with enough affirmatives.

tl;dr

Wanna make a piece of climate art with me?  All artists/disciplines welcome.  You just have to care about climate change.  I just like making things with other people.  Email me if interested: andyjarema@gmail.com
